Art and Architecture resources available @ your library

On-line resources for art and architecture include collections of images, indexes to research articles (some to full text articles), and on-line reference dictionaries and encyclopedias.

 

Image resources:

Art and Architecture images from the following sources:

  • The ART Collection from AMICO: images from museums and other art collections around the world.
  • The Saskia– a collection of digital art images with a special emphasis on the core images required for teaching the history of Western Art.
  • Images from the Akron Art Museum
  • Art and architecture from the University of Cincinnati
  • WPA prints by Cleveland artists, from the Special Collections, Case Western Reserve University Library.

The ART Collection

 

  • Provides high-quality, digital images of works of art from museums around the world.
  • Focuses on the creative output of cultures around the world, from prehistoric to contemporary times, and covers the complete range of expressive forms.
  • Genres included: painting, sculpture, photography, print, drawing, ceramic, textiles, metalwork, furniture, books and scrolls, architecture, and archeological finds.

    Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals

Basic Accounting Lesson Plans

Are balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements keeping you up at night? Well, beginning accounting students (or others with an interest in such matters) will appreciate these basic accounting lesson plans, provided courtesy of the MoneyInstructors.com website. The first section contains a number of lesson plans and worksheets that include topics such as the fundamental concepts of accounting, transaction analysis, accrual accounting and adjusting entries. Moving on, the site also contains a number of useful articles on various topics within the field, such as bookkeeping, ledgers, and profit and loss reports.
