New at Google–News Archive

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

Google adds a news archive that lets you search 20o years of history. To provide this service, Google has partnered with Time, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the Guardian, and the Washington Post as well as some other news aggregators such as Factiva, LexisNexis, Thomson Gale, and HighBeam Research.

Find this service on the Google home page by selecting “News; on the news screen look for the “Google News Archive link right under the “Search the Web box in the upper right of the screen.

Both free and fee-based information is provided by this service. Much of the fee-based content in Google Archive Search is available at no charge via fee-based services provided through OhioLink. Check with Don Day to locate a free source.
