- Use Alice to search for any book available in the OU Libraries.
- This search includes the libraries on the main campus in Athens and 5 branch libraries.
- You can limit your search to just the books in the Zanesville Campus Library. Use the <Limit/Modify> button at the top of the screen.
- You can request books from the other OU Libraries from the computer.
- Look for the <Intercampus/Annex> button at the top of the screen.
- It will take about 3 business days for your requests to arrive at the Zanesville Campus Library.
- You may also widen your search to include all the OhioLINK Consortium libraries.
- There are over 80+ libraries in this consortium. You may request any book owned by a consortium member.

For additional information about access to full-text research databases. Use the “History” and “”Social Work” links. Note: some of these resources are available only to students on the main campus.
- Academic Search Complete
- A good research database to begin research. Replaces Academic Search Premier. Indexes nearly 11,000 scholarly and other publications covering academic areas of study including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts and literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies. Full text provided for about 5300 of the magazines and journals.
- Historical Statistics of the United States
- This resource is the standard source for the historical data of American history. HSUS provides data on social, behavioral, humanistic, and natural sciences including history, economics, government, finance, sociology, demography, education, law, natural resources, climate, religion, international migration, and trade - quantitative facts of American History.
- The fully searchable and downloadable electronic edition permits users to graph individual tables and create customized tables and spreadsheets reflecting their own particular areas of interest.
- Lexis Nexis Academic
- Collection of full-text databases covering news, business, legal research, and biographical information.
- Lexis Nexis Congressional
- Comprehensive access to U.S. legislative information from the Congressional Information Service.
Allows users to search an index of congressional publications from 1970 to the present; retrieve CIS Legislative Histories for public laws going back to 1970; find testimony from congressional hearings 1988 to present; track bills as they move through the House and Senate; search the Congressional Record 1985 to present and Federal Register from 1980 to present and locate information about members and committees

- Provided by OhioLINK.
- Covers the literature of public affairs – current issues and actions which affect world communities, countries, people, and governments. This database provides access to articles, books, and documents addressing important political, economic and social issues.
- SocINDEX
- Database provides full text of journal articles, and indexing and informative abstracts for "core" coverage journals dating back to 1895, plus "priority" coverage journals and "selective" coverage journals. Extensive indexing for books, monographs, conference papers, and other sources is included. SocINDEX with Full Text features subject headings from a sociological thesaurus designed by subject experts and expert lexicographers. Searchable cited references are also provided.

- Subscription ended June 2005. For most current citations in sociology, see SocINDEX.
- Sociological Abstracts 1963-2005 is an index to research sponsored in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences, including anthropology, criminology, demography, education, law, penology, race relations, social psychology, and urban studies. The database draws information from an international selection of over 2,600 journals and other serials publications, plus conference papers, books, and dissertations. Records added after 1974 contain in-depth and nonevaluative abstracts of journal articles.

- Google U.S. Government Search offers a single location for searching across U.S. government information, and for keeping up to date on government news. You can choose to search for content located on either U.S. federal, state and local government websites or the entire Web -- from the same search box. Below the search box, the homepage includes government-specific news content from both government agencies and press outlets.

- U.S. Government Official web portal for finding U. S. Government information on the Web. Can limit by state - use the ADVANCED search.
- Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance
- Gives you access to a database of all Federal programs available to State and local governments (including the District of Columbia); federally -recognized Indian tribal governments; Territories (and possessions) of the United States; domestic public, quasi-public, and private profit and nonprofit organizations and institutions; specialized groups; and individuals.
- Government Printing Office
- Federal databases including the Code of Federal Regulations, the Federal Register, the Congressional Record, and the catalog of US Government Publications.
- Department of Health and Human Services
- Official web portal for the Department of Health and Human Services. This provides links to various government departments including Welfare, Social Security and Medicare.
- Statistical Abstracts of the United States
- The Statistical Abstract of the United States, published since 1878, is the authoritative and comprehensive summary of statistics on the social, political, and economic organization of the United States. Sources of data include the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Bureau of Economic Analysis, and many other Federal agencies and private organizations.
- University of Michigan Documents Center
- The Documents Center is a central reference and referral point for government information, whether local, state, federal, foreign or international. Its web pages are a reference and instructional tool for government, political science, statistical data, and news.
- MedlinePlus
- MedlinePlus will direct you to information to help answer health questions. MedlinePlus brings together authoritative information from NLM, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and other government agencies and health-related organizations. Preformulated MEDLINE searches are included in MedlinePlus and give easy access to medical journal articles. MedlinePlus also has extensive information about drugs, an illustrated medical encyclopedia, interactive patient tutorials, and latest health news.
