[edit] 2006-2007 Faculty Professional Development Mini Grants

The Center for Excellence and Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CEITL) offers professional development mini grants to Zane State faculty. The purpose of the mini grants is to help offset the costs of attending professional development activities directly related to improving classroom teaching. Faculty may use mini grants to help pay for technology-specific conferences as long as the conference offers a teaching and learning track. A calendar and examples of appropriate conferences can be found on the External development opportunities calendar.

A maximum of four mini grants of up to $500 each will be funded. The mini grants are funded by the 2006-2007 Carl Perkins grant; continued offerings are contingent upon future fund availability.

[edit] Eligibility

All full-time Zane State faculty and adjunct faculty with at least three quarters of Student Opinion of Instruction surveys (SOI's) are eligible.

[edit] Requirements

Mini grant recipients must share what was learned as a result of the activity with the rest of the faculty. This may entail giving a presentation during fall or winter development days or another scheduled time, or contributing written materials to the CEITL wiki. Funds will be released upon submission of a presentation outline or other suitable written materials. Expense reports must be submitted by May 31, 2007.

[edit] Application Procedure

To apply, complete the online application. You must submit supporting documents to the CEITL director within three days of submitting the online application. Mini grants are available on a first come, first served basis; priority will be given to applicants who have not received a mini grant within the past three years. The submission date and time of the online application will be used to determine the order in which applications will be considered. Final award decisions are based on the merit of the professional development activity and are made by a subcommittee of the CEITL team. Funds will be awarded until they are exhausted.
