A good research database to begin research. Provides full text for more than 7,000 scholarly publications covering academic areas of study including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts and literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies.
American National Biography
Biographical essays on anyone who died before 1996 and "whose significant actions occurred during his or her residence within what is now the United States or whose life or career directly influenced the course of American history."
Biography.com
Brief biographical sketches on more than 25,000 individuals, both past and present. Site related to the "Biography" program on the A&E cable channel.
Biography Reference Bank
Full text biography database containing in-depth, original profiles from Wilson Biographies Plus Illustrated, Biography Index, and full-text articles, page images, and abstracts from the complete range of Wilson databases (including biographical profiles, feature articles, interviews, essays, book reviews, performance reviews, speeches, or obituaries). It covers over 500,000 people and includes over 36,000 images.
