Screencast: Prism for desktopping your web apps

05 December 2007

refracting550.pngIf you’re like me and you live in web apps for mail, calendar, and office, you might want to give Prism a try. What this does is allow you to enter a URL and Prism creates a shortcut to the site on your desktop or start menu. When you launch the shortcut it opens up the site in a stripped-down Firefox–no toolbars, menus, etc., so you get just the web app in its own window.

At first I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal because I could just use multiple windows with Firefox; however, stripping all the unneeded items away from the browser interface really makes it nice.

Check out my prism demo screencast.
