TheOpenCD 3.0 - now with linux!
TheOpenCD has released version 3.0, which includes a live CD based on Ubuntu linux. If you are not familiar with live CD’s, they allow you to test drive an operating system without touching your hard drive–just put in the CD, reboot, and play with a new OS. When you’re done, eject the CD, reboot, and you’re back to your regular computer. It’s risk free, so to speak.
This is an interesting move, since TheOpenCD never seemed to be much about linux but rather acquainting Windows users with the concept of free software (open source, or as they call it, FOSS–free and open source software).
