Google portal?
“Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt has said the company is focused on search and is not a Web “portal.” A Web portal is a site which offers a range of personalized services on one page.”
This looks pretty portal-ish to me: customized page with access to google services like gmail, news, driving directions, local movies, weather, stock prices and so on. And once again, google wins on the user interface–a simple checkbox to include an item, which when clicked reveals the option to choose the number of items to include. When looking at your customized page, click and drag to arrange items however you like.
