My aching neck and back
For the last several weeks I’ve had terrible neck and back pain that has made it difficult to work at the computer for extended periods. I went to a chiropracter when it first started and things were looking up for a couple of weeks, but the pain came back with a vengeance. My chiro, who is a holistic practitioner, thought something else might be up because the adjustments weren’t taking hold. Using the Meridian system she checked me out and it seems I have a problem thyroid. (This whole Meridian thing is pretty wild and I couldn’t believe how her touching a part of my body could make my arm go weak.) Anyway, it seems that there’s a nerve connected to the thyroid gland that exits the spine just exactly where my pain is.
I’m on dietary supplements to address the thyroid issue and the theory is that taking care of it will stop it from sending out impulses and getting that nerve inflamed and allow the adjustments to “take”.
It’s amazing how debilitating that type of pain is, and ibuprofen didn’t do a thing for it.
Well, the other reason I’ve been absent is that we moved from Blackboard 5.5 on Windows to Blackboard 6.x on RedHat Linux, so much of my time has been taken up with that. I wonder if there’s any correlation between that and the pain in my neck…?
