Back from vacation
Having our oldest daughter, Diana, start kindergarten this year threw a wrench in our typical plans for a September vacation, so I took a week and went to visit a friend in Pittsburgh for a couple of days and just puttered around the house. We took the girls to Kings Island on Saturday; unfortunately Emma is still a little too small to ride many rides. The lines were ridiculous for this time of year, but it was fun. As usual, the hotel swimming pool was the highlight of the trip for Diana. This was the first vacation I took in which I did not check my work email.
Now I’m back for a week before heading out to Denver for Educause–we’re sending a veritable gang. This week I hope to make some linkages from our Development week and get folks to contribute to our wiki with regards to some issues that came up–like how to create an anti-plagiarism culture–and some faculty-contributed best practices. (This, BTW, relates directly to my idea of hit-and-run wikis.) I also hope to get a few people interested in using a blog with/for their classes. I think I got a few people interested during Development week…
